An Empath's Guide to Overcoming Your Demons

Empathy without boundaries is self-destruction. But I can’t ignore people’s feelings. No, like, I literally can’t.

Hi, I’m Mel, and I’m an empath. My inability to control said magic is about to make me implode. Bad things come in threes, right? I’m a newly qualified magical teacher failing my training year because four tiny vampires keep trying to bite their classmates. My mother’s written me off as magically inadequate and is determined to marry me off. (Because when your power’s a disaster, you’re just an incubator for future greatness.) Oh, and I’m so low I attract a demon feeding off my despair—the kind magical society insists don’t exist.

Then Ash walks into my life. Gorgeous. Charming. A vampire—which means dead tissue, no Aether connection, blissfully zero feelings bleeding into my already-overloaded brain. Perfect fake boyfriend material. This is totally a controllable situation.

Except… remember how I can’t ignore feelings?

Ash

She tastes of self-doubt, disappointment, and melancholy. Exquisite. I’m half-vampire, half-demon. An actor who’s spent seventy years perfecting two performances: feeding on human emotion without them noticing, and hiding the demon half that society would shun me for. Never get close—that’s my one rule.

But when my demon father tells me he’s dying and needs my help to get close to an empathic witch, I break it.

Keeping my distance from Mel should be easy. It isn’t. She’s drowning in everyone’s emotions, barely holding herself together, and somehow still showing up every day with a smile. She asks me to be her fake boyfriend to fool her overbearing mother. Perfect. I can play the role and deliver her to my father.

Instead, I’m falling for the woman I was sent to destroy.

Saving her means betraying my father—but for the first time in seventy years, I believe I can.

In London’s hidden magical world, some demons can’t be overcome. Some are worth falling for anyway.

Perfect for readers who crave: ✦ Dual POV fated mates with impossible stakes ✦ Fake dating that becomes devastatingly real ✦ Morally grey hero fighting his nature ✦ Empath heroine finding her power ✦ Urban fantasy London with demons and witches ✦ Soul pacts and found family ✦ Slow-burn heat with emotional depth

Intended for mature readers.

Fatally Falling — Book Two

A Witch's Guide to Banishing Fiends

Aoede Ramos has spent twenty years being the controlled one. As a blood magic lawyer handling demon contracts for a London firm, she is precise, effective, and carefully bounded — the woman who can argue a soul pact clause into dust without flinching. What she cannot do is use her other power: the Aether gift she inherited from the Ramos line, the one that lets witches speak to the dead. She returns to Ramos Abbey, alone, to face the ancestor she has been running from since she was seven years old. She performs the summoning exactly as Lamorna taught her. The man who steps out of the ritual circle is not who she was expecting.

Dev has been inside the trees for a hundred and forty years. He does not remember his real name. He does not remember what he did to deserve the curse. He has seven manifestations left before he fades to permanent shadow, and he is lying about something he hasn’t yet remembered.

Running beneath both stories is a third: a weakened, desperate cambion who has spent six months engineering exactly these circumstances. He needs an Aether witch powerful enough to open a doorway between realms, at a sacred ancestral site, at the right moment — and he did not plan for Dev. The book’s central tension is a triple countdown: Dev’s dwindling lives, Aoede’s growing power, and a deadline that is running out.

Intended for mature readers.

Fatally Falling — Book Three

A Pixie's Guide to Pickpocketing Pirates

Lamorna Bray spent the last six months doing what she does best: throwing herself into work to forget that her kelpie ex-boyfriend had the fidelity of a tidal wave. The result — a groundbreaking academic paper called Bart’s Law, identifying a mathematical method for detecting Aether-shielded sacred sites — has made her a name in magical academia and is due to be published to the wider magical world in six weeks. She’s taking two weeks’ holiday in her Cornish home village of Porthhelyk before the launch. She has no intention of going anywhere near the sea, or anyone who smells of it.

Then a tall-ship docks in the harbour, her best friend volunteers her for its crew, and a blond, sea-blue-eyed captain named Penrose calls her Tink before she can object.

Penrose has been planning this for six months. He needs Lammy to retract her publication. He is prepared to kidnap her to make that happen. What he is not prepared for is a librarian who fights back with maritime disaster statistics, negotiates library access as a condition of cooperation, and sees through his every deflection in three days flat.

The voyage will take them through the seafox-haunted bay where ancient magic bleeds through the depths — and into a hidden world neither of them is ready to share.

Coming soon. Intended for mature readers.
